Shipping Details

Ocean Service
The majority of shipments to and from Alaska move via steamship or barge under UPS Freight’s single carrier responsibility. Sailing schedules are as follows:

Alaska Delivery
Upon arrival at port, freight moves to its final destination via truck or ferry.

Documentation
No special documentation is required. Freight moves on a standard bill of lading.

Simple Invoicing
All freight charges appear on a single, simplified invoice.

Rating Information

Alaska rates are based on two components:

  • UPGF 560 or appropriate base rate program for shipments to and from Seattle.
  • Alaska Tariff UPGF 306 for freight moving between Seattle and Alaska. UPGF 306 is a traditional per hundred weight (CWT) and class pricing structure.
